I balance the inner content of your energy with the language and form of the specific dance style to unite two people in partner dances: Hustle, Salsa, Swing, Argentine Tango and other Latin & Ballroom Dances. I have been teaching & performing for over 30 years.

WHERE IT ALL BEGAN

Dance is where it all began for me, all of my movement study is rooted in my love of dance & music. At age 3 my grandmother introduced me to square dancing, as she was a square dance caller in Chicago. I was in Gymnastics at age 5 but really wanted to be an actor/director. At home my mom had a studio where she taught Belly Dancing. I would pass by her classes on the way to the kitchen for a popsicle. But it wasn’t until age 12 when I saw Michael Jackson performing that I really got hooked on dance. I received a scholarship to a small studio in Beaverton Oregon. It was at that moment my life had clear meaning and dance would prove to be my ticket to the world.

 

By age 17 I was on the road as a professional dancer. On that journey a dance partner introduced me to Latin & Ballroom partner dances. My love of dance was deepened in this form, and I began intensively studying and competing in the Latin Dance & Adagio categories. For me competition killed the spirit of dance and soon a new partner & I created an act & we began traveling the world in various shows, events, films, commercials & more.

 

At the same time I was teaching, choreographing and continuing my film and acting studies.

 

Later I discovered the deep connection and moment by moment creativity of the Argentine Tango, which I compare to the collaborative creativity of the greatest jazz artists.

 

Today I teach groups, couples and individuals all of these partner dances.
